Funded Traineeship – EU Delegation in Rwanda (Political, Press & Information)

About the role

The EU Delegation to Rwanda offers a six‑month funded traineeship for recent graduates interested in international relations, diplomacy and strategic communication. The placement is within the Political, Press and Information Section, providing insight into the EU’s work in Rwanda and the wider Great Lakes region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct media analysis and produce summaries for internal review
• Support the development and implementation of strategic and social media communication
• Draft analytical and political reports on domestic and regional developments
• Participate in meetings, take notes and prepare briefing documents
• Engage with civil society organisations and represent the Delegation at external events

Required profile

• University degree in international relations, African studies, EU studies, political science, public policy, economics, media or journalism
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is an asset
• Strong interest in political and economic developments in the region and EU affairs
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation

Required skills

• Experience with professional or institutional social media publications
• Ability to analyse media content and produce concise summaries
