Valet - Guest Room Cleaning

About the role

Nyungwe Tea Forest Resort, part of Rare Finds, is a resort set within a working tea plantation in Rwanda. As a valet, you will clean, supply and provide services for guest rooms, suites, guest corridors and garden borders according to hotel standards, and help guests with their requests so that guest satisfaction is maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Attend duty on time in the correct uniform and well-groomed, and attend the daily briefing at the start of each shift.
• Be fully trained on resort standards and procedures, and follow the resort's key control policy.
• Receive the daily task sheet from the HSK office and use and maintain chemicals, supplies and equipment as per resort standards.
• Clean guest corridors, garden borders and empty ashtrays, make sure wet floors are dry when it rains, and fill pantries with the required linen stock.
• Clean and replenish linen in guest rooms, clear and clean the pantry, empty garbage and bring down soil linen.
• Prepare the cleaning service bag for the next day, complete the daily task control sheet and all assigned tasks.
• Report malfunctioning tools, incidents, guest room issues, lost and found articles, in-room safe issues and unusual guest behaviour to the supervisor.
• Know the layout of guest rooms, corridors and HK storage spaces, follow health and safety policies, attend required training and carry out other duties asked by the manager or HOD.
• Work a rotating roster including morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and a strong customer focus.
• Physical ability to lift, move and bend repeatedly and stand for most of the shift.
