Pool Attendant

About the role

The Pool Attendant ensures the safety and comfort of guests using the hotel’s pool facilities while delivering service that reflects the brand’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and patrol the pool area, enforce safety regulations, and assist swimmers in danger.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck, towels, chairs and signage, and report any maintenance issues.
• Provide guest service such as greeting guests, distributing towels, answering inquiries about pool and hotel facilities, and handling complaints.
• Identify and report hazards, injuries, or equipment problems to supervisors and relevant departments.
• Support pool safety programs, training, documentation and coordinate with security, housekeeping and spa & leisure management.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or higher in Sports/Fitness/Hospitality).
• 1‑2 years experience as a pool attendant, lifeguard or fitness attendant in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel or high‑end fitness club.
• Physically fit, able to lead by example and assist with basic gym inductions.
• Knowledge of pool dimensions, emergency procedures and basic pool equipment maintenance.

Required skills

• Valid Lifeguard Certificate (RLSS, Ellis & Associates or equivalent).
• Valid First Aid, CPR & AED certification.
• Pool water‑treatment or pool‑plant‑operator certification (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of gym equipment operation and safety.
