Chef – Lake Muhazi

About the role

The Chef – Lake Muhazi will lead the kitchen at our hospitality venue in Fumbwe, Nyagasambu. This full‑time, on‑site role involves menu planning, supervising staff and ensuring a high‑quality dining experience that reflects our brand’s vision.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff, schedule shifts and provide training.
• Manage inventory, place food orders and control costs and waste.
• Maintain strict hygiene, safety and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with management to design seasonal menus and respond to guest feedback.
• Monitor food quality, adapt recipes for dietary needs and ensure consistent dish execution.

Required profile

• Strong culinary expertise with knowledge of international and local cuisines.
• Experience in kitchen operations, inventory management and cost control.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Leadership ability to supervise, train and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Service‑oriented mindset with attention to detail and adaptability to special requests.
• Organizational and time‑management skills for peak service periods.
• Prior experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a hotel, resort or high‑end restaurant; hospitality experience near Lake Muhazi is a plus.
• Relevant culinary education or certification preferred.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kigali with flexible weekends, evenings and holidays.
