Senior Breast Imaging Officer

About the role

The Senior Breast Imaging Officer will lead clinical interventions, training, mentorship and supervision of diagnostic breast ultrasound across 16 district hospitals in Rwanda as part of the MURIKA project. The role combines on‑site work with virtual supervision using tele‑ultrasound technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver diagnostic breast ultrasound training curricula, using both in‑person and web‑based formats.
• Provide real‑time and asynchronous virtual mentorship to clinicians via tele‑ultrasound and the REACTS radiology platform.
• Support assessment of training effectiveness and contribute to research activities, workshops and policy translation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Services (Master’s degree preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in imaging services, preferably in cancer control or breast cancer early‑detection programs.
• Experience with breast ultrasound and familiarity with CT, MRI and mammography equipment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Diagnostic breast ultrasound technique.
• Tele‑ultrasound supervision using REACTS software.
• Operation of CT, MRI and mammography machines (preferred).
