Physical and Mental Wellbeing Specialist

About the role

The Physical and Mental Wellbeing Specialist provides country‑level technical support to strengthen the quality and integration of physical and mental wellbeing across FH Rwanda programmes. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the specialist will coach, train and mentor staff and partners to deliver evidence‑informed, culturally appropriate interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, planning and adaptation of physical and mental wellbeing programmes in line with FH technical approaches and national standards.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to programme teams and partners to ensure high‑quality implementation at facility and community levels.
• Develop technical materials, tools and knowledge products, and contribute to research, monitoring, evaluation and learning activities.
• Assist in proposal development, resource mobilisation and partnership building with government, NGOs, academia and private sector.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in health, mental health, physical wellbeing or community health programming, including design and management of multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and train staff and partners.
• Commitment to FH’s Christian values and willingness to travel to programme locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google platforms (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using virtual communication tools such as Skype or Zoom.
