Consultant to Update Integrated Vector Management Training Materials

About the role

Jhpiego, in partnership with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, seeks a qualified consultant to review and update national Integrated Vector Management (IVM) training manuals, audio‑visual modules, and illustrated booklets. The consultant will work from Kigali, collaborating closely with Ministry of Health and RBC teams to produce user‑friendly, context‑appropriate materials that support community‑based malaria elimination efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing national IVM guidelines, training manuals and communication materials and align them with the Rwanda Malaria Strategic Plan 2027‑2030.
• Develop a comprehensive IVM curriculum, facilitator guide, and participant training module.
• Write scripts in Kinyarwanda for an audio‑visual training package and coordinate video production.
• Design and produce an illustrated IVM training booklet with visual aids, tables and infographics.
• Prepare inception, draft, and final implementation reports, ensuring all materials are ready for printing and dissemination within 45 working days.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Medicine, Medical Entomology, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Communication, Health Education or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in malaria prevention, vector control or Integrated Vector Management.
• Strong knowledge of Rwanda’s malaria policies, community health systems and vector control strategies.
• Proven experience supporting ministries of health, international organisations or development partners.

Required skills

• Audio‑visual education material production, including script writing and multimedia coordination.
• Curriculum development and adult‑learning material design.
• Creation of illustrated training booklets with visual aids.
