Country Manager – Travel Retail (Rwanda)

About the role

Lagardère‑Flairway Travel Retail Ltd is looking for a dynamic Country Manager to lead its retail operation in Kigali, Rwanda. You will be responsible for overseeing all shop locations, driving commercial performance and ensuring an exceptional customer experience across a portfolio that includes beauty, luxury goods, high‑end liquor, tobacco and more.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of over 45 employees across multiple retail outlets.
• Set and monitor fiscal revenue, expense and profit targets, as well as inventory levels.
• Analyse KPIs, identify sales issues and implement corrective actions.
• Lead weekly and monthly operational meetings, preparing action plans and performance reports.
• Review sales targets by shop, category and brand against historical data and budgets.
• Control costs, drive promotional activities and report results to the commercial team.
• Maintain strong relationships with airport authorities and ensure compliance with SIP implementation.
• Foster a positive work culture, organise training and uphold high standards of service excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail management or country‑level leadership, preferably in travel retail or luxury goods.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting revenue and profit objectives.
• Excellent people‑management skills, able to motivate large, diverse teams.
• Ability to work flexible, irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French or local languages is a plus.
