Country Director, Rwanda

About the role

You will be Viamo’s senior commercial leader in Rwanda, responsible for growing the business, building strategic partnerships and positioning Viamo as a leading digital development partner in the country.

Key responsibilities

• Drive growth and impact through in‑country sales, prospecting development sector clients and donors, and converting qualified leads.
• Design and launch mobile engagement projects with partners, including budgeting, co‑design, and proposal development.
• Maintain a dynamic pipeline, track activities in the CRM, and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Represent Viamo to national government agencies, mobile network operators and ensure regulatory compliance.

Additional responsibilities

• Support the cross‑functional Country Crew to deliver program deliverables on time and to quality standards.
• Maintain relationships with Mobile Network Operators to secure infrastructure and agreements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in social enterprise, INGO, MNO, ICT4D, donor or international implementation, with a strong commercial track record in Rwanda.
• Proven sales and business development success, including pipeline development, client meetings, proposal writing and winning applications.
• Established professional networks across government, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and the private sector in Rwanda.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, leadership skills and ability to work interculturally.
