Financial Management Specialist

About the role

The Financial Management Specialist will lead the Accountancy Section at WASAC Head Quarter, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting and treasury operations in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate work of the Accountancy Section to meet deadlines.
• Contribute to preparation of annual revenue and capital budgets, monitor financial performance and complete annual accounts.
• Provide accounting support and counsel across WASAC Development, including budget preparation, monitoring and final accounts.
• Assist in planning, testing, training, implementation and review of computerized financial systems.
• Ensure Treasury Management and Banking functions comply with legislative, regulatory and organizational standards.
• Prepare financial inputs for reports to committees and working groups.
• Identify training needs within the Accountancy Section and deliver relevant training.
• Interpret legislative and regulatory requirements and implement necessary procedural changes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance or accounting (or Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years experience).
• Minimum 2–3 years experience as Accountant, Senior Accountant or Financial Management specialist in a large organization.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are an advantage.
