About the role
The Finance and Administration Assistant provides day‑to‑day financial, administrative and operational support to the AWF Rwanda office. Working closely with the Finance and Administration Officer and the AWF headquarters finance team, the role ensures accurate financial data management, procurement coordination and smooth office operations.
Key responsibilities
- Record and process financial transactions, prepare payment vouchers, invoices and receipts.
- Maintain petty‑cash records, support monthly close and cash‑balance monitoring.
- Assist with supplier payments, staff travel advances and audit documentation.
- Support procurement activities, vendor management and invoice follow‑up.
- Organise logistics for travel, workshops and seminars.
- Manage office inventory, mail handling and filing systems.
- Enter mileage and other data into the Netsuite accounting system.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
- 1–2 years experience in accounting and office administration.
- Knowledge of government tax regulations (income tax, VAT, duties).
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Experience using accounting databases, specifically Netsuite.
