Finance Intern – Kigali, Rwanda

About the role

CorpsAfrica is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Finance Intern to support the day‑to‑day finance operations of its Rwanda office in Kigali. The role offers hands‑on experience in nonprofit financial management, including financial documentation, transaction recording, payment processing, reconciliations, filing, procurement documentation, and other routine finance activities while ensuring compliance with CorpsAfrica policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review payment requests and ensure all required supporting documents are attached before processing.
• Prepare payment documentation for petty cash, bank transfers and other disbursements.
• Record financial transactions in the accounting system with appropriate coding under accountant supervision.
• Assist with monthly bank and petty‑cash reconciliations.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard‑copy finance files, including invoices, receipts and vouchers.
• Support the compilation of data for monthly financial reports and budget tracking.
• Update finance trackers for payments, expenses and budget monitoring.
• Assist with basic financial data analysis as needed.
• Maintain procurement documentation such as quotations and purchase orders.

Required profile

• Motivated, detail‑oriented individual with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under supervision of the accountant and collaborate with the Finance & Administrative Coordinator.
• Interest in nonprofit finance and willingness to learn finance processes.
