Director of Country Operations

About the role

Zipline, the world's largest drone delivery service, is seeking a Country Head of Product to own operational performance, continuous improvement and standards execution across all Nests within a country. The role is the in-country owner of operational excellence, working with Nest Leads, Compliance Officers and Global Operations and Engineering teams to ensure performance targets are met sustainably, safely and in line with the global operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Own country-level operational and service KPIs across all Nests and drive accountability with Nest Leads to close performance gaps
• Ensure SOPs, operational standards and governance frameworks are consistently applied, and act as the in-country point of contact for regulatory matters, supporting audits and inspections
• Partner with Compliance Officers to identify execution gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions
• Lead root cause analysis on major operational issues and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives
• Represent country interests to Global teams, lead the rollout of operational and product changes, and support regulatory approvals and operational readiness for new products and markets

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in operations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, quality, program management or related fields
• Demonstrated success driving operational performance and continuous improvement in complex environments
• Ability to drive execution across teams without direct authority, with strong project management skills
• Legal right to work in Rwanda; the role is based in-country with about 50% travel to operational sites
