Project Manager / Team Leader – Kigali Climate‑Smart Wastewater Project

About the role

We are seeking a senior Project Manager/Team Leader to head a multidisciplinary team of 15 experts delivering the Kigali Climate‑Smart Wastewater Management Project. Based in Kigali for the 12‑month assignment, you will be the primary contact for the client and oversee all technical, managerial and administrative aspects of the consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of engineers and specialists to deliver feasibility studies and climate‑resilient wastewater solutions.
• Prepare and submit an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and an integrated Environmental and Social Management Plan compliant with AIIB standards.
• Develop construction‑ready detailed engineering designs covering collection, conveyance, treatment, disposal and septage management.
• Provide procurement support, including preparation of tender and bid documentation for competitive construction procurement.
• Act as the main liaison with the client (WASAC) and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Senior professional with strong technical depth and international project exposure.
• Proven leadership experience in developing‑country contexts, particularly in water or wastewater infrastructure.
• Willingness to be based in Kigali for the duration of the project.
