Senior Construction Manager

About the role

Mace is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join the delivery team on a landmark aviation project in Rwanda. You will work closely with the Construction Lead and senior leadership team, driving construction execution while championing safety, quality and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Operate as part of the Senior Construction Delivery Team, providing guidance to the wider delivery group.
• Drive business priorities through construction, digital and data adoption, and responsible site practices.
• Develop and execute short‑term construction plans aligned with programme requirements, coordinating trade and subcontractors.
• Own health, safety, wellbeing and quality outcomes for assigned sections, fostering a positive safety culture.
• Support managers in focused forecast and look‑ahead meetings, offering authority, challenge and direction.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the client and design CMT, ensuring robust QA processes to final sign‑off.
• Apply comprehensive technical expertise to uphold Mace onsite standards.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives, supporting net‑zero carbon transition through proactive carbon management.

Required profile

• Membership of MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE or an equivalent professional body.
• Proven experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
