Software Engineer – Backend Development (Kigali)

About the role

Qorelux Systems & Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Kigali office. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing and maintenance of software applications that power the company’s intelligent technology ecosystems for clients across Rwanda and the region.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, production‑quality code for back‑end services and APIs.
• Design, develop, test and maintain software components that integrate with databases and other services.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems integration, cybersecurity and cloud operations.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews and documentation.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and aligned with business requirements.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer‑science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures and software‑engineering principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience in back‑end web development and API integration.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming and ability to apply OOP principles.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kigali and communicate effectively in diverse teams.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Experience in cybersecurity, systems integration or enterprise environments is a plus.
