Senior HR Officer (Maternity Cover)

About the role

WRI Africa is seeking a Senior Human Resources Officer to cover a six‑month maternity leave. The role provides comprehensive HR operational support to staff and managers, ensuring smooth HR processes across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day HR administration, including employee records, leave, benefits, and contract documentation.
• Prepare and issue employment contracts, extensions, offer letters, promotion and confirmation letters.
• Coordinate onboarding, transfers, contract renewals, and off‑boarding in line with WRI policies and local regulations.
• Liaise with medical, pension, benefits, legal, and external partner providers to ensure timely follow‑up and accurate documentation.
• Serve as the focal point for Workday‑related employee lifecycle processes, such as new hires, job changes, and terminations.
• Provide HR policy guidance, employee‑relations support, and ensure confidentiality of all HR information.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented, discreet, and service‑driven HR professional.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across a regional and global matrix.
• Strong organizational skills and capacity to maintain accurate HR records during the cover period.

Required skills

• Workday (HRIS) proficiency.
