Senior Green Logistics & Low‑Emission Transport Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a senior expert to lead green logistics and low‑emission transport initiatives for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will shape sustainable mobility strategies, advise on decarbonisation, and build capacity among regional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement green logistics and low‑emission transport strategies across the ECOWAS region.
• Provide technical assistance on sustainable freight systems, fuel‑efficiency measures and environmentally‑friendly transport solutions.
• Advise on transport decarbonisation, emissions‑reduction measures and green corridor initiatives.
• Draft technical guidelines, policy recommendations and operational frameworks for sustainable transport.
• Integrate climate and environmental considerations into corridor management and transport planning.
• Conduct assessments of logistics efficiency, emissions reduction and sustainable practices.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, logistics operators, private‑sector partners and development agencies.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities on green logistics and low‑emission transport.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs for the project.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in transport engineering, logistics, environmental management, sustainable mobility, climate policy or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in logistics, sustainable transport or green mobility, with a minimum of 7 years focused on green logistics or low‑emission transport.
• Proven experience in transport or logistics projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience working on international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
