Launch Lead – Precision Delivery Network

About the role

Zipline is establishing its first Precision Delivery network in Kigali, Rwanda. The Launch Lead will own the on‑ground execution of the technical deployment, turning it into a safe, reliable, partner‑ready operating network that serves patients, commercial customers and national logistics needs. This senior program leadership role coordinates cross‑functional teams without direct reports and is accountable for launch and stabilization outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define success criteria, chair go/no‑go governance and remain accountable through launch and stabilization of the Kigali Precision Delivery network.
• Create and drive an integrated launch roadmap covering site readiness, staffing, partner onboarding, regulatory engagement, supply‑chain and commercial activation.
• Run launch operating cadence – readiness reviews, risk reviews, executive reporting and rapid escalation when thresholds are missed.
• Lead cross‑functional execution without direct authority, assigning owners, mapping dependencies and holding teams and vendors to commitments.
• Coordinate field execution, validate site commissioning and confirm end‑to‑end flight and ground operations.
• Engage with regulatory and government stakeholders to secure permits and demonstrate compliance.

Required profile

• 6+ years leading complex operational programs, launches or infrastructure rollouts with measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing field deployments that involve engineering, operations, partners and regulators, preferably in logistics, aviation‑adjacent or autonomous‑system programs.
• Proven track record of delivering concrete launch outcomes such as infrastructure completion, operational‑availability targets, partner onboarding or regulatory approvals.
• Strong program‑management rigor including integrated planning, risk management, dependency mapping and structured go/no‑go processes.
• Ability to make timely decisions with incomplete information, resolve cross‑functional conflicts and stay with problems until resolved.
• Willingness to be based in Kigali, travel frequently throughout Rwanda and undertake occasional international travel.
