About the role
Raising The Village is seeking three Project Assistants to support community‑based projects in the Rutsiro and Nyamasheke districts of Rwanda. The role involves implementing project designs, coordinating trainings, and ensuring compliance with programme objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct design review meetings with partner villages, update designs and budgets, and coordinate trainings on financial literacy, health, agriculture, and livestock.
- Implement RTV methodologies to increase household income, prepare procurement lists, verify inputs, and monitor project compliance.
- Build relationships with cell‑level government officials and community structures, mobilise households for activities, and provide on‑the‑job support.
- Develop work plans, submit weekly field reports, manage financial requests, and support donor reporting.
- Assist with field monitoring, data collection, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, community development or related field (agriculture degree preferred).
- Minimum two years of relevant experience at the village level and proven coordination with local government officials.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Rwandan motorbike licence (class A) and ability to navigate remote, hilly terrain.
