Process Analyst – Rwanda

About the role

Watu, a microfinance lender focused on financing and mobility across borders, is hiring a full-time Process Analyst in Rwanda. Reporting to the Head of Process, the role empowers operating teams by driving efficiency, accountability and operational integrity, creating new processes and systems and improving existing ones. The ideal candidate is a data-driven businessperson strong in data analysis, project management, stakeholder management and communication.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business needs and processes deeply
• Engage business leaders on current processes, gaps and anticipated changes
• Drive efficiency through process mapping and identification of improvement opportunities
• Create systems for operating teams, primarily using Google Cloud Platform
• Provide initial training and support to operating teams until they are self-sufficient
• Design and run experiments to quantitatively identify best practices

Required profile

• Required: SQL and spreadsheet management
• Preferred: university degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, MIS
• Preferred: dashboarding and Python

What we offer

• Onboarding: two weeks shadowing operating teams, then two weeks supporting system development and optimization, possibly with an internship with the analytics team
• Ownership of projects from end to end within months 2-3
• Daily morning huddles, weekly 1:1s with the manager and regular side-by-sides with teams
• Work from home one day per week, about 10% travel
