Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate

About the role

The Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate will be based in Huye, Rwanda, supporting UNHCR’s strategic priorities on livelihoods, graduation approaches, and economic inclusion for refugees and host communities. The role focuses on building partnerships, coordinating market‑based programmes, and strengthening self‑reliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of livelihoods, graduation and economic inclusion interventions for refugees and host communities.
• Identify and promote opportunities that enhance refugee self‑reliance and integration into local economies.
• Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, financial service providers and private‑sector actors to expand access to employment, vocational training and business development services.
• Contribute to alignment of humanitarian and development priorities through coordination with local authorities and development partners.
• Participate in planning, coordination and programme review processes related to socioeconomic inclusion.
• Collect, analyse and report programme data, and prepare field reports and recommendations.
• Work with protection, education, cash assistance and GBV units to support community mobilisation and document good practices.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in livelihoods, economic inclusion or related humanitarian development programmes.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs and private‑sector partners.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
