About the role

The Lead, Library Services & Digital Scholarship will re‑imagine the library ecosystem for a progressive, distributed university network. Working at the intersection of information science, instructional design, and digital innovation, you will design a forward‑looking digital literacy framework and connect the community to open‑source, digital, and AI tools.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement a digital literacy framework aligned with the university’s mission.
• Redesign traditional library services to support a distributed, technology‑driven learning environment.
• Curate and integrate open‑source, digital, and AI tools for research and teaching.
• Collaborate with faculty and IT teams to ensure seamless access to digital assets and research data.
• Lead the development and management of the learning management system, digital asset repositories, and research data tools.

Required profile

• A degree in Library & Information Science, Knowledge Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an academic, research, or corporate library setting.
• Startup mindset: agile, creative, and passionate about mission‑driven learning.
• Commitment to shaping the next generation of African leaders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience managing digital asset management platforms.
• Hands‑on knowledge of research data tools such as SPSS and NVivo.
