Internal Audit Field Officer, Rwanda

About the role

GiveDirectly delivers cash transfers directly to people living in poverty and crisis, and the Field Officer (Internal Audit) plays a day-to-day role in supporting this model. The officer reviews recipient surveys and the processes behind them, and audits the work of the enrolment team, which surveys households and enrolls them in the programme. The role rewards sound judgment, work ethic, communication skills and a commitment to the mission.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with GiveDirectly recipients in the field to assess field processes and recommend corrections and improvements.
• Measure the quality of FO data against data quality standards and report inconsistencies.
• Assess the field team's compliance with field processes and policies.
• Identify and report key risks associated with the programme in the community.
• Report cases of fraud and bribery by staff or recipients.
• Examine local stakeholders' assessments of the programme in their community.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related role, preferably with underserved or vulnerable communities.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation, including auditing surveys and operational processes.
• Fluency in Kinyarwanda with strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions, including difficult terrain and weather.
