Hotel Manager

About the role

The Hotel Manager acts as the strategic leader of the property, overseeing all operational areas and stepping in as General Manager when required. Based in Kigali, the role ensures the hotel delivers exceptional guest experiences while meeting brand standards and financial targets. The manager works closely with the Executive Committee to shape and implement the overall business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, Retail and Recreation.
• Develop and execute the property’s operational and brand service strategies in partnership with the Executive Committee.
• Monitor financial performance, review budgets, and manage capital expenditures to achieve profitability goals.
• Analyse operational challenges, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Coach department heads on occupancy, rate management, wage control and other controllable expenses.
• Review financial statements and wage progress reports to ensure alignment with budgeted targets.
• Maintain capital expenditure priorities in line with the service strategy.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and employee engagement while maintaining brand standards.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field with at least 8 years of relevant experience, **or** a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of experience.
• Proven experience in hotel or property management, sales and marketing, or related operational leadership.
