About the role
Raising The Village is seeking a Finance Assistant to support its finance team in Kigali. The role ensures accurate bookkeeping, budget formulation, financial analysis, monitoring, and reporting across assigned field districts, while providing advisory support to field officers.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and file all financial documents (cash advances, receipts) to keep records audit‑ready.
- Update finance systems with timely data and participate in monthly Sage project reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, budget tracking and implementation of financial policies; act as finance business partner to field offices.
- Reconcile staff advances, petty cash and project‑specific accounts on a monthly basis.
- Post journal entries, manage fuel accountability and government payment records.
- Receive, log, verify and process invoices; follow up on vendor disputes.
- Review and reconcile project activity accountability, investigate discrepancies and oversee individual accounts for field officers.
- Verify mobile‑money transactions, initiate payments via Beyonic and flag variances.
- Report non‑compliant practices and recommend improvements for accuracy, efficiency and cost savings.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance management or audit.
- Practical experience with mobile‑money payment platforms.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
- Experience using Beyonic or similar mobile‑money platforms.
