Head of Finance – Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager / Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing agribusiness in Kigali. The role will oversee budgeting, reporting, cash management and financial controls across farming, processing and export operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end finance, including budgeting, forecasting, management accounts and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity and working capital, covering collections, supplier, labour and logistics payments.
• Drive cost control, cost reduction and profitability improvement across farms, packhouse, procurement, logistics and export.
• Establish and strengthen internal controls, fraud prevention mechanisms and stock reconciliations.
• Partner with Operations, Sourcing, Packhouse and Commercial teams on pricing, margins and farm‑level profitability.
• Ensure statutory and tax compliance, audit readiness and manage external auditors.
• Lead the finance team and payroll, maintaining accuracy and accountability for labour costs.
• Provide financial insights to the CEO and communicate with banks, lenders, investors and other stakeholders.
• Improve ERP, accounting systems, reporting dashboards and finance processes to increase accuracy and reduce manual work.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of finance/accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent, and a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Experience in agriculture, agri‑export, horticulture, manufacturing or FMCG is preferred.
• Proven ability to identify cost leakages, reduce costs, improve margins and strengthen financial controls.
