Creative Writer for LEAP Centre

About the role

The Creative Writer will join the LEAP Centre at the University of Global Health Equity, supporting the centre’s mission to advance global health equity through innovative health‑system solutions. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the role focuses on producing original, authored content that translates complex technical work into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Define and uphold LEAP’s editorial voice, ensuring consistent tone, style, and language across all written materials.
• Create internal and external communications such as newsletters, annual reports, briefs, op‑eds, case studies, white papers, and promotional content.
• Manage and update written content on the LEAP website and social media channels, aligning with UGHE and PIH editorial standards.
• Serve as the primary bridge between technical research/programmatic work and public‑facing communications, turning complex findings into clear, accessible narratives.
• Collaborate closely with LEAP researchers, program leads, and implementing partners to extract key insights for policymakers, funders, and the global health community.

Required profile

• Strong writing and editing abilities with a proven track record of producing high‑quality authored content.
• Demonstrated skill in translating technical or scientific information into engaging, non‑specialist language.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with researchers and program managers.
• Ability to maintain a consistent editorial voice across varied communication channels.
