Public Relations Officer

About the role

The Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri is looking for a Public Relations Officer to design and execute a communications strategy that raises the university’s profile, supports stakeholder engagement and assists reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Promote the institution’s achievements and initiatives through strategic communications and media outreach.
• Manage public relations activities, including press coverage, guest reception, visits and hospitality.
• Develop and disseminate public information, event promotional materials and marketing content.
• Lead promotion of the university’s products and services through media and marketing events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a public relations role, preferably within an educational or non‑profit setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
• Strong ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using social media platforms for institutional communication.
• Familiarity with graphic design software (preferred).
