Communications & Media Intern

About the role

UMURI Foundation is seeking a creative Communications & Media Intern to help amplify its impact through football‑based youth programs. The intern will support the organization’s online presence, produce visual content, and document activities on the ground.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update social media platforms (content planning, posting, engagement).
• Create designs such as flyers, posters, social media cards, and basic reports.
• Develop written content including stories, captions, blog posts, newsletters, and success stories.
• Capture and edit photos and videos during events and activities.
• Assist with short‑form video editing for testimonials and recaps.
• Help produce communication materials like brochures, presentations, and one‑pagers.
• Maintain a media archive of photos, videos, quotes, and stories.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or current student in Communication, Media, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field.
• Strong interest in NGO work, youth empowerment, and sport‑for‑development initiatives.
• Creative, detail‑oriented and comfortable working in the field.

Required skills

• Social media management on Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok.
• Design tools: Canva (Photoshop, Illustrator are a plus).
• Basic video editing using CapCut, VN, Premiere, Filmora or similar.
• Writing proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda.
