Commercial Manager – Rwanda & Burundi

About the role

Yara Limited is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead sales and market development for its fertilizer business across Rwanda and Burundi. The role combines strategic sales planning, stakeholder engagement and close collaboration with agronomy teams to grow farmer adoption of Yara’s crop nutrition solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own sales targets for Rwanda and Burundi, covering volumes, product lines and customer segments.
• Communicate Yara’s value proposition by crop or key product and design effective sales campaigns.
• Align commercial plans with the Agronomy team to ensure integrated sales and agronomic strategies.
• Coach and develop the commercial team on Yara crop‑nutrition concepts and selling messages.
• Deliver on the Yara brand and communications strategy, strengthening brand presence in the region.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial, statutory and government stakeholders.
• Lead the team by translating company strategy into clear objectives and fostering a synergistic culture.
• Monitor and safeguard Yara’s values and reputation throughout the region.

Required profile

• University degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Business Administration or related field; postgraduate qualification (MBA or relevant Master’s) is an advantage.
• Over 10 years of practical sales and marketing experience in the agribusiness industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of the agricultural sector, regulatory environment and government stakeholders in Rwanda/Burundi.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Kinyarwanda is a plus.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior government officials and industry stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, team‑management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
