Cluster Tax and Compliance Manager

About the role

The Cluster Tax and Compliance Manager supports and audits the execution of Marriott's control environment processes across the hotel. The role works closely with departmental leaders to ensure accounting and audit standards are met and provides training on relevant procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement accounting projects and work assignments.
• Uphold audit policies and procedures, interacting with operations leaders to achieve control environment goals.
• Lead training sessions for department heads on audit standards and SOPs.
• Conduct and follow up on accounting SOP audits for all property areas.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to fraud and collection.
• Generate accurate reports and presentations, analyze data, and recommend solutions.
• Verify that audits are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Achieve finance and accounting performance goals, including month‑end audit functions.
• Provide guidance to other units on budgeting policies and financial resource utilization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (4‑year program).
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, auditing, or a related professional area.
• Familiarity with Marriott SOPs, risk assessment tools, and quarterly audit requirements.
• Understanding of relevant federal and state regulations.
