About the role
We are seeking a senior Climate Change Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team and support the Kigali Climate‑Smart Wastewater Management Project. The role involves delivering climate‑resilient wastewater solutions, preparing environmental assessments, and providing procurement expertise. Travel to Rwanda will be required as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Lead feasibility studies to identify technically viable, climate‑resilient wastewater solutions for Kigali.
- Prepare an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) compliant with national legislation and AIIB standards.
- Develop a consolidated Environmental and Social Management Plan.
- Produce construction‑ready detailed engineering designs covering collection, conveyance, treatment, disposal and septage management.
- Integrate environmental, social and climate‑resilience requirements into all design outputs.
- Provide procurement support, including preparation of tender and bid documentation for competitive construction procurement.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary project team and external stakeholders.
- Travel to Rwanda as required to ensure effective project delivery.
Required profile
- Senior professional with strong technical depth in climate‑smart water and wastewater engineering.
- Demonstrated international project exposure, preferably in developing‑country contexts.
- Proven leadership ability and capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to on‑site requirements in Rwanda.
