Business Development Director

About the role

The Business Development Director will drive growth, market expansion and strategic partnerships for the African Quality Assurance Centre Holding Company, positioning it as Africa's leading provider of laboratory and quality assurance services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies, identify new markets and lead entry initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with governments, multinational corporations and local industries.
• Negotiate and secure long‑term, high‑value contracts and framework agreements.
• Establish strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, regulators and international TIC companies.
• Identify client needs, create new service offerings and promote digital transformation services such as LIMS and AI‑driven analytics.
• Contribute to revenue targets, capital allocation decisions and ensure measurable ROI on BD initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop the business development team across subsidiaries.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Business Development Director, Head of Sales or senior executive in TIC, healthcare, industrial services or related sectors.
• Strong track record in market expansion, client acquisition and partnership development.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of African markets and global business practices.
• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; professional certifications are a plus.
