Biofortified Maize Trials & Adoption Coordinator (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a highly motivated Biofortified Variety Trial and Adoption Coordinator to lead the testing, evaluation, and promotion of biofortified maize varieties across Rwanda. The role blends field research, data management, and stakeholder engagement to generate evidence that supports the release and adoption of improved maize varieties.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement on‑station and on‑farm maize variety trials in collaboration with research specialists.
• Monitor agronomic practices, trial performance, and data quality throughout growing seasons.
• Organise field days and demonstration events for farmers, seed companies, and other stakeholders.
• Lead farmer preference and perception studies to understand adoption patterns.
• Ensure compliance with national regulations and international standards (DUS/VCU, UPOV).
• Manage accurate data collection, validation, storage, and maintain databases for trial data.
• Produce seasonal and annual technical reports and supervise trial teams.

Required profile

• Strong motivation and experience coordinating agricultural trials.
• Ability to work closely with farmers, extension teams, and partners.
• Familiarity with national and international seed variety standards.
• Excellent organisational and reporting skills.
