Volunteer Project Development and Grant Writing Specialist

About the role

Earth Resilience Initiative (ERI) is seeking a remote volunteer to help turn community needs and early‑stage ideas into well‑designed projects and to prepare strong funding applications. You will work closely with the ERI team to shape project concepts, identify suitable grants, and support the application process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new project ideas and refine existing concepts based on community needs and evidence.
• Write concept notes and full proposals with clear objectives, activities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Create realistic budgets using verified local cost data.
• Research grant opportunities, assess eligibility, and track deadlines.
• Draft and edit funding applications and supporting documents for review.
• Organise application timelines, documentation, and follow‑up tasks.
• Identify potential collaborators to strengthen project development or implementation.

Required profile

• Experience in project development, proposal writing, or funding research.
• Strong written English, research, and editing abilities.
• Ability to translate ideas into clear, practical plans.
• Interest in climate action, environmental sustainability, and community development.
• Collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and reliable communication.
• Comfort working remotely with shared documents and spreadsheets.
• Experience preparing budgets or monitoring and evaluation frameworks is a plus.
