AI Product Owner (M/F)

About the role

Africa Global Logistics Rwanda Limited, a transport and logistics company based in Kigali, Rwanda, is hiring an AI Product Owner (M/F) for its AI Factory within the Digital & Innovation Department. The role is based at the AGL Expertise Center in Kigali and is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify AI use cases with business teams, analyse processes and turn needs into clear product requirements.
• Analyse and redesign business processes to find where AI (LLMs, agents, automation) can improve efficiency.
• Own and prioritise the product backlog, balancing value, feasibility, data availability and delivery constraints.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of AI use cases, coordinating AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Architects and MLOps teams.
• Lead validation phases with business stakeholders, collect feedback and ensure products solve real problems.
• Prepare releases, support rollout strategies and promote adoption through communication and training.
• Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions on quality, performance, cost and reliability.
• Ensure alignment with AI Factory governance, lifecycle and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Data or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in product ownership, project management, business analysis or digital transformation.
• Proven experience bridging business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience driving automation or digitalisation initiatives is strongly valued.
• Exposure to AI, data or analytics products is an advantage; experience in multi-site or international projects is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Understanding of AI and generative AI concepts (LLMs, RAG, agents, automation).
• Familiarity with AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI Foundry is an advantage.
• Strong product management and agile skills (backlog management, user stories, Scrum/Kanban).
• Ability to define and monitor product performance with KPIs and dashboards, e.g. Power BI.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and workflow automation tools.
