Africa Program Officer

About the role

WCS is seeking a motivated Africa Program Officer to provide day‑to‑day technical, administrative and coordination support for a large, long‑term grant covering projects across three African regions. The role ensures high‑quality implementation, donor compliance and effective collaboration with field conservation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Track implementation progress across the three regions and flag delays or challenges.
• Lead regular coordination calls with regional and country teams to monitor activities.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets in partnership with Africa RBM.
• Ensure compliance with donor rules, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Support preparation for donor field assessments, reviews and monitoring visits.
• Consolidate inputs from multiple regions and coordinate high‑quality donor reporting.

Required profile

• Motivated individual with experience in project coordination and donor compliance.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities to work with regional and country teams.
• Capability to track budgets and monitor implementation timelines.
• Familiarity with conservation programmes and field operations in Africa.
