Teaching Staff – Information Science & Library Management

About the role

The Institut d'Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri is inviting applications for a full‑time teaching staff position in its Department of Information Science and Library Management. The role involves delivering lectures, supervising research, and contributing to the department’s academic and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, ensuring alignment with current research and pedagogical advances.
• Review, evaluate, and advise on student research proposals for theses or funding.
• Develop innovative course materials and curricula.
• Mobilize resources for research, teaching, networking, outreach, and student internships.
• Conduct cutting‑edge research collaboratively with students and staff.
• Guide students in publishing their research in reputable journals.
• Participate in community development initiatives and faculty governance.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree in Information Science, Library Management, Library Science or a related field, with recognized equivalence if obtained abroad.
• At least two years of proven professional experience in an academic environment.
• Research experience and a commitment to academic excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in curriculum development and academic leadership.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in library services, information technology, and information literacy.
• Willingness to support and advance the Department of Information Science and Library Management.
• Strong organizational and teamwork abilities.
