Seed Quality Control Coordinator

About the role

The Seed Quality Control Coordinator will oversee quality, SOPs, and regulatory compliance for One Acre Fund’s 4,000 MT hybrid maize processing plant in Eastern Province, Rwanda. This role ensures that seed output meets partner, client, and national standards while supporting the organization’s mission to improve farmer livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive quality assurance and SOP implementation across all stages of the seed processing plant.
• Partner with the Processing Coordinator to provide technical guidance, conduct continuous inspections, and balance efficiency with production targets.
• Manage plant quality staff and casual workers, delivering training to ensure strict adherence to SOPs.
• Act as primary liaison with internal teams, external clients, and regulatory bodies, continuously strengthening quality control systems.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in the hybrid maize seed industry, seed quality control, or plant operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.
• Proven expertise in seed quality assurance, SOP development, and regulatory compliance.
• Technical understanding of a 4,000 MT processing plant and quality risk mitigation.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with experience training diverse plant staff.
