Farm Operations Manager – Mushroom Producer, Musanze

About the role

A leading East African mushroom producer, which supplies high-quality mushrooms and mushroom-derived products in Rwanda, is looking for a hands-on Farm Operations Manager in Musanze. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources efficiently and ensure processes run smoothly and in line with set objectives, while monitoring performance, enforcing compliance with policies and procedures and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and manage monthly and annual operational budgets, track and control expenses, and generate and analyse financial and operational reports.
• Coordinate procurement of raw materials, packaging and equipment, and manage inventory to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, including timely repairs and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Supervise HR and administrative functions such as recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, labour laws and safety regulations.
• Oversee quality control processes, ensuring adherence to HACCP standards and consistent product quality.
• Coordinate logistics operations and lead overall plant activities to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.

Required profile

• Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Agriculture or a related field.
• Strong leadership, team management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to develop and implement operational KPIs.
