Rwanda Partnerships Lead

About the role

The Rwanda Partnerships Lead is a new, strategic and public-facing role within Wellspring's team in Rwanda, central to the organization's priority of rallying wider community support for children's education and raising its profile in Rwanda and East Africa. The role manages partnership development, fundraising and external engagement across Rwanda and the East Africa region, working closely with the Executive Director and the Communications and PR Coordinator, under the oversight of the International Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships in Canada. It is a full-time position on a two-year renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fundraising and philanthropic development in Rwanda and East Africa, building a donor and prospect pipeline and managing high-level donor relationships
• Drive corporate giving and partnerships, developing tailored proposals and growing existing corporate relationships
• Pursue grants from regional foundations, institutions and international funders, and support government relations, including MOUs
• Strengthen and manage partnerships with implementing partners, NGOs and education networks, and represent Wellspring at sector events
• Work with the Communications and PR Coordinator on public relations strategy and advocacy, and host international visitors and partner school visits
• Project manage partnership-related projects such as Miles for Education, and contribute to regional growth and sustainability planning
• Ensure all external engagement complies with the Child Safeguarding Policy and model the organization's values

Required profile

• Comfortable and confident with a wide range of stakeholders, including corporates, foundations, donors, government and educational partners
• Ability to identify, nurture and steward philanthropic opportunities and support grant proposals and reporting
• Experience of 1 month or more listed in the metadata
