Purchase & Supply Chain Manager

About the role

The Purchase & Supply Chain Manager will lead the procurement, logistics and distribution functions for WASAC's water treatment facilities. The role ensures reliable delivery of materials, equipment and services while controlling costs and supporting uninterrupted water service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align supply chain strategies with WASAC’s objectives.
• Maintain the annual procurement plan and oversee its execution.
• Regulate procurement, logistics and transport processes to achieve timely, cost‑effective deliveries.
• Advise on inventory management to guarantee material availability.
• Build and sustain strong vendor relationships to secure quality goods at competitive prices.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions and quality issues.
• Monitor KPIs to ensure performance meets strategic targets.
• Lead a team of supply chain professionals, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
• Ensure logistics processes comply with ERP system standards.
• Manage the annual supply and warehouse budget within approved limits.
• Enforce compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Conduct regular training to enhance team skills and safety awareness.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business law, administration or economics (or Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years relevant experience).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in a similar utility or large‑scale organization.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and risk‑management capabilities.
