Program Coordinator – Infrastructure

About the role

The Infrastructure Project Coordinator will lead the day‑to‑day delivery of hospital infrastructure enhancement projects for Operation Smile Rwanda. This role manages timelines, budgets, contractor oversight and equipment procurement to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Finalize and manage project timelines, monitor budgets and coordinate required tenure applications.
• Oversee contractors, supervise work schedules, enforce quality and safety standards, and conduct regular site inspections.
• Lead weekly site meetings, create progress reports, track change orders and manage unexpected issues.
• Conduct internal project assessments, bid analyses and on‑site monitoring of construction works.
• Review engineering drawings, verify compliance with local and international codes, and ensure material quality meets specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive equipment lists, coordinate procurement plans and secure maintenance contracts.
• Review contractor invoices, verify bill of quantities and ensure timely payment processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience coordinating large‑scale construction, remodeling or renovation projects, preferably in a hospital setting.
