Civil Design Engineer – Senior Infrastructure Draftsman

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Draftsman to support ongoing external works and infrastructure engineering activities on the New Kigali International Airport Project in Rwanda.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop infrastructure shop drawings and coordinated layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
• Coordinate external utilities including stormwater drainage, sewer networks, water supply, irrigation, electrical duct banks, telecom networks, and other site infrastructure services.
• Review and coordinate site grading, finished levels, road levels, and interface requirements with Architectural, Structural, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Develop and update stormwater drainage layouts, profiles, catchment coordination, and supporting drainage calculations.
• Prepare plan and profile drawings, cross‑sections, grading plans, and utility corridor drawings.
• Coordinate with survey teams regarding site levels, as‑built information, and engineering requirements.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure clashes through BIM coordination processes.
• Support the preparation of RFIs, technical submissions, design coordination comments, and engineering reports.
• Review consultant comments and incorporate approved changes into revised drawings and BIM models.
• Maintain and update infrastructure BIM models and extract coordinated drawings and quantities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure and external works projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
• Proven experience in roads, grading, stormwater drainage, utility networks, and site development works.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and BIM processes.
• Previous experience on airport, large‑scale infrastructure, industrial, or major mixed‑use developments is highly preferred.
