PMEAL Intern – Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation

About the role

WaterAid Rwanda is seeking a Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (PMEAL) Intern to support its WASH programmes. The intern will work closely with the PMEAL manager and country programme staff to ensure high‑quality data, timely reporting and effective knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Support routine data management and monitoring & evaluation processes.
• Assist in programme monitoring, data collection and reporting.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge management, including lessons learned, case studies and success stories.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the PMEAL manager and represent the department when delegated.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or final year) in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Health or a related field.
• Basic understanding of M&E frameworks, project cycle management and data collection methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with digital data tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, Power BI, mWater) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities; interest in the development/WASH sector.

• Fixed‑term contract (40 hours per week) based in Kigali.
• Monthly stipend of RWF 150,000.
