Project Manager – SCWASH Project

About the role

WaterAid Rwanda is seeking a Project Manager to lead the SCWASH (Scotland's Collaboration for WASH Systems and Learning) project. Based in Kigali, you will drive the planning, implementation and evaluation of water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute project plans, ensuring timely delivery of WASH services.
• Manage budgets, allocate resources and monitor financial performance.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and learning activities to assess impact.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, donors and local stakeholders.
• Prepare regular reports, documentation and quality‑assurance checks.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Champion gender equality, social inclusion and safeguarding throughout the project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, water engineering, sanitation, public health, environmental health science, environmental management or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years experience (Bachelor) or 4 years experience (Master) in WASH project management or a similar role.
• Proven experience working with INGOs on WASH programmes.
• Strong understanding of the Rwandan WASH sector and policy environment.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 1‑year contract (renewable) – 40 hours per week.
