People & Performance Manager

About the role

DelAgua, a social enterprise delivering clean‑cooking solutions across Africa, is looking for a People & Performance Manager to support its expanding operations. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and working closely with senior leadership, the role will develop and implement HR and performance processes that enable high‑quality project delivery and the issuance of carbon credits in new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing HR support to Country Directors and representatives in all operating countries.
• Assist in recruiting field, technical, and country‑level staff for both headquarters and regional offices.
• Design and roll out onboarding and staff training programmes across all locations.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of performance‑management processes for African teams.
• Create and administer staff surveys and engagement initiatives to inform senior management.
• Coordinate annual appraisals with country leadership, delivering constructive feedback.
• Develop people‑and‑performance policies and contribute to shaping company culture.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures across country teams.
• Manage disciplinary, retrenchment, and other HR processes in line with established policies.

Required profile

• Passionate and experienced HR professional with a track record of supporting multi‑country teams.
• Demonstrated ability to design recruitment, onboarding, and performance‑management systems.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working directly with senior leaders.
• Experience in a fast‑growing, flat‑structure organization, preferably in the social‑impact or non‑profit sector.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
