People Operations Specialist

About the role

Spark MicroGrants is looking for a proactive People Operations Specialist to shape its global people operations. Based in Kigali (with flexibility for Kampala), you will ensure that our team has the right structure, tools, and processes to deliver impact.

Key responsibilities

• Support HR officers with global tools, analysis, and guidelines to ensure consistent decision‑making.
• Maintain and track global people‑operations processes, calendars, OKRs, and key deliverables.
• Lead benefit analyses, employee surveys, and coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding across countries.
• Develop SOPs and internal documentation for the growing People Operations function.
• Administer employee‑facing systems such as BambooHR, Google Workspace, and Slack.
• Research, recommend, and implement new tools in partnership with technical teams.
• Champion responsible AI tool use and identify efficiency improvements.
• Perform data entry, conduct regular audits, and ensure high‑quality HR records.

Required profile

• Highly organized with a strong process mindset.
• Experience in Operations or HR within a fast‑paced environment.
• Hands‑on attitude, able to coordinate across multiple countries.
• Ability to lead implementation of new processes and projects.
