Loan Officer

About the role

The Loan Officer will work under the supervision of the Branch Business Manager to evaluate, process, and monitor loan applications for members of RATWA SACCO HUYE. The role involves direct interaction with applicants, ensuring compliance with loan policies, and supporting the credit committee.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with applicants to explain loan products, collect required documentation, and assess eligibility.
• Compile, verify, and submit loan applications to the authorized committee.
• Monitor disbursed loans through site visits, documentation, and regular reporting.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements, manage delinquent accounts, and assist in recovery of non‑performing loans.
• Prepare loan agreements, rescheduling documents, and collateral registration paperwork.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in micro‑finance or banking.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with banking applications and computer use.
